The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Committee meets regularly, usually with a guest speaker, to exchange and discuss information on counterfeiting, parallel imports, patent law, trademark law, copyright law, and other related subjects of interest to knowledge-based American industries and businesses. The committee seeks to produce translations and position papers on proposed amendments to intellectual property related laws and regulations that affect American business in Indonesia. The committee actively seeks compatible government and non-governmental organization partnerships for joint lobbying in pursuit of better IPR law enforcement and public awareness for IPR issues. The committee is frequently called upon to provide informed opinions and recommendations to US government agencies associated with IPR compliance and enforcement issues for Indonesia.
