AmCham AGM Closes Successful 2023, Optimistic for 2024!
As the year draws to a close, AmCham Indonesia’s Annual General Meeting lauded a successful 2023 and proclaimed itself ready for change and growth in 2024.
AmCham’s Board of Governors for 2024 was also announced at the AGM today, Dec 11, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel Jakarta.
It was also what Board of Governors Chair Douglas Ramage termed a “historic and very sad day” as AmCham bid farewell to outgoing Managing Director A Lin Neumann, who has been in the post since 2015 but has recently moved to Europe with his family. He gave his annual report to the hybrid event by Zoom.
Incoming MD Lydia Ruddy vowed to “build on his great work," and echoed Doug’s profound thanks for Lin’s service.
Guest speaker Jason Rebholz, Acting Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy, Jakarta said it was “a very exciting time” for both the US government and US business to be working with Indonesia.
“We look forward to building on the progress made in 2023 for a very prosperous 2024.”
In his final round up of the year, Neumann outlined AmCham’s many achievements over the year, covering everything from advocacy work with the government to member events including the Career Fair, the annual Investment Summit and the Thanksgiving Golf Tournament.
Neumann said one major highlight for him this year was a special AmCham lunch with US Senator Tammy Duckworth, who attended JIS as a child.
But he reserved his biggest praise for the hard work of the AmCham team during his tenure and thanked the Board for its hard work.
Wishing you good luck and every happiness for the future, Pak Lin, we will miss you!
