AmCham Indonesia met a bi-partisan US Congressional Delegation (Codel) led by Congressman Vern Buchanan (R-Florida) during a dinner reception on May 3 at the Plataran Menteng Restaurant, Jakarta.
The Codel visited Indonesia to meet with President Joko Widodo, prominent cabinet ministers such as Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, legislators, and US companies to get to know the trade and investment climate, the art of doing business in Indonesia, and how major US-led agreements such as the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) and the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) could advance economic cooperation between the two countries.
AmCham Managing Director A Lin Neumann welcomed the Codel, their spouses, AmCham member companies, and US Embassy representatives, to the dinner. Congressman Buchanan then spoke of the Codel’s support for US businesses in Indonesia and other markets to help them to thrive.
The dinner then transitioned into a lively conversation on multiple topics, including but not limited to, doing business in Indonesia, the country’s political outlook, US-Indonesia business relations, and so on.
