AmCham Indonesia held a courtesy meeting with the Ministry of Industry on September 29, 2026, led by Dewi Setiawati, Head of the Halal Industry Center, with participation from representatives of several sectoral directorates across the Ministry.
The meeting provided an opportunity for AmCham Indonesia and member companies to share industry perspectives on the implementation of mandatory halal certification as the October 2026 milestone approaches, including regulatory developments, implementation preparedness, and potential implications for business operations across sectors. Members reaffirmed their support for complying with the mandatory halal certification requirements, while highlighting the importance of regulatory clarity, practical implementation, and a supportive ease-of-doing-business environment to enable businesses to continue investing, growing, and contributing to Indonesia’s economy.
AmCham Indonesia appreciates the Ministry of Industry’s engagement and continued dialogue with the private sector, including its efforts to bring industry perspectives into the ongoing inter-ministerial regulatory process. We look forward to continued collaboration with the Ministry and relevant government stakeholders to support a predictable, workable, and competitive business environment as Indonesia advances its halal industry ecosystem.
