As part of the US-Indonesia Investment Initiative 2017, AmCham Indonesia and the US Chamber of Commerce will hold a Creative Economy Mission in Jakarta on June 19-20. This will be the second mission the Initiative has held this year, following the successful Innovation Mission in February, which focused mostly on Patent Law regulations.
Three major Hollywood film studios have confirmed they will attend the mission this month: Disney, Time Warner and 21st Century Fox. The delegations, along with AmCham and the US Chamber, will visit a series of government agencies during the two-day event, including the Creative Economy Agency, Ministry of Communication and several others related to the creative economy.
The mission itself will highlight the key issues in developing the sector, and will include a Creative Economy Roundtable with local associations and businesses. A reception night and Buka Puasa will also be conducted to invite more stakeholders to network with each other.
AmCham hopes this mission will not only be a place for the participating companies to have continued communication with the Indonesian government, but also to build mutual collaboration with the local creative economy industry.
“The US leads the world in the creative sectors, and there is a great opportunity for Indonesia to benefit by building partnerships in this sector,” said A. Lin Neumann, managing director of AmCham.
