AmCham Indonesia is pleased to announce that Sanofi Indonesia is the newest addition to our family of members. As a global life sciences company, Sanofi is committed to improving people’s lives through the development of healthcare solutions.
Sanofi has existed in Indonesia since 1969, firstly with Hoechst Pharmaceutical Indonesia, which later became Aventis Pharma. In 2004, it merged with Sanofi-Synthelabo and changed its name to Sanofi-Aventis, and then Sanofi Indonesia. Sanofi Indonesia is the parent of two companies: PT Aventis Pharma and PT Sanofi-Aventis Indonesia.
Sanofi helps improve the lives of Indonesians through its many healthcare solutions. One vital role is through vaccines, covering a wide range of illnesses, including: flu, rabies, hepatitis B, hepatitis A, MMR, typhoid, and DPT (diphtheria, pertussis -whooping cough - and tetanus), and many more. Sanofi is also an active contributor to the Global Polio Eradication Initiative program.
Sanofi is committed to creating an economic impact in Indonesia. This investment commitment is shown by updating its manufacturing facility in Pulo Mas in East Jakarta to become one of the best production facilities in the world of its class.
“Sanofi has strong ties to the US, as we are listed in the US as well. It makes sense to join AmCham because US investors contribute to Sanofi’s performance,” said Benoît Martineau, Country Chair of Sanofi Indonesia.
“What we expect from AmCham is to help us with the advocacy, to create better and stronger dialogue with different authorities, to express the industry’s concerns and positive proposals to the government and maintain the dialogue. We are hoping by joining AmCham we can nurture this relationship.”
“We welcome a vibrant pharma company like Sanofi into AmCham,” said AmCham Managing Director Lin Neumann. “This is a vital sector with a great future.”
