SSEK Corruption Law Seminar

 April 16, 2009

Indonesian legal consultants SSEK (Soeito, Suhardiman, Eddymurthy and Kardono) hosted a luncheon seminar, entitled "What Should Every Business Person in Indonesia Know about the Indonesia Corruption law and the FPCA" for AmCham Indonesia.

Many companies and individuals in Indonesia have raised questions and concerns related to compliance with the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (the “FCPA”) and the Indonesian Corruption Law (the “ICL”), especially whether it is possible to comply with both laws at the same time, given a perceived common practice of facilitating payments in Indonesia.

Attendees were able to learn more about FCPA and ICL compliance from the perspective of corporations operating in Indonesia.

The workshop, including a presentation and Q&A session, was given by Ira A. Eddymurthy, SSEK partner, and Darrell R. Johnson, SSEK Executive and AmCham Indonesia Ex-Officio (ex-First Vice President).
