Ernst & Young (E&Y) and AmCham Indonesia co-hosted a half-day Tax Workshop on recent changes to Indonesia’s tax provisions and procedures. The workshop addressed the sunset policy – its requirements, compliance and benefits. E&Y staff also provided insights into the New Income Tax Law including Article 4(2), non-taxable income, deductible expenses, tax rates, withholding tax, tax reduction for small/medium scale businesses, the controlled foreign corporation rule and transfer pricing rules. The workshop concluded with a presentation on the proposed amendments to the Value Added Tax (VAT) and Sales Tax on the Luxury Good Law. The event proved to be timely and informative given the end of the tax year and numerous changes to the tax law.
